Explode the lunch bag!!!! (experiment)

Today my class was able to choose a science experiment of our choice. Our choices was building a fizz inflator, make a volcano or you could explode a lunch bag, and I chose to explode a lunch bag. Making this activity was easy. I found no difficulties in the making of the science experiment. The instructions were easy to follow. This is what I had to do...

  1. Go outside – or at least do this in the kitchen sink.
  2. Put 1/4 cup of pretty warm water into the bag.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the water in the bag.
  4. Put 3 teaspoons of baking soda into the middle of the tissue
  5. Wrap the the baking soda up in the tissue by folding the tissue around it.
  6. You will have to work fast now – partially zip the bag closed but leave enough space to add the baking soda packet. Put the tissue with the baking soda into the bag and quickly zip the bag completely closed.
  7. Put the bag in the sink or down on the ground (outside) and step back. The bag will start to expand, and expand, and if all goes well…POP!

Bees

This week my class had a science experiment about how bees pollinate flowers. The equipment we had was a tuning fork, a cut ballon, plastic cup, flour ( pollen), paint brush, black laminated paper. Before we did our experiment we had to read the instruction. We used the balloon to cover the top of the cup, then brushed the flour (pollen) onto the balloon after that we hit the tuning fork on a desk or on a chair. Then we gently tip the cup sideways, so I could touch the cup with the tuning fork so we can see the difference.

After our Science experiment we were to read and find fact about bees. My group called ruby rhinos read the "The Language of Bees and Other Insects" book by Megan Kopp on epic, with our teacher. Our group  had to find key information from the book, then find 20 keywords. When we had 20 key words we narrowed it down to 6 words, after we had our 6 words we had to form up sentences with 6 words.

Energy

Today I was learning about how electricity is made.
I enjoyed researching about it
I found nothing challenging.
My digital learning object shows I can insert images, insert text boxes, change text and backgrounds and embed my DLO in my blog.
Next time I would change nothing
